INDEPENDENT RESEARCH

Dr. Shipley-Gates' research places eroticism in conversation with Black feminism, public health, and digital humanities. Specifically, her work explores digital erotic cultural production as a form of Black feminist resistance against sexual oppression to address sexual health disparities among
Black girls, women, and femmes.
